This was really fun, actually. So Caleb is a writer (poems, etc) and Rizzo is a phenominal guitar player (he can pick and stuff. he told me once he “doesnt like the ‘chord’ thing” and I thought ruled.). So they both came over with our friends Katie and John. Turns out Katie plays Bass and I ran out of chords/instruments so John was emotional support.
Anyway, we wanted to try and write some stuff to poems that Caleb had written. We just hit record and let it rock, and the post is the result of that. It is mildly edited, and by mildly, i mean not really.

Oh, there’s this to. It started out as Katie trying to learn how to play drums (my roommate said she’s better than me, which is true) and Rizzo started playing along. That evolved into Caleb trying to record us, Rizzo on guitar, me on drums, and John and Katie Dancing. Here’s a video of the guitar part, at least. We had a hard time getting the recording to work for the full length of the song. You get the idea from the vid.
This one actually has a title, I just can’t quite get it out in words. It’s in my head, just not out on the page here…Well, it’s late, and I’m tired, so I can’t quite get everything lined up right. This will be a full song by the end of the week, but here’s the first part. a “teaser” if you will.

My friend Andrew (some of you may know him) is a really good guitar player so it’s a bunch of fun to jam along with him. We just turn everything up so that it’s deafening (and my roommates hate me) and then play. Nothing is practiced, so it’s a bit rough around the edges.
One of these days maybe we’ll actually organize ourselves and come up with something sweet to play.

I made it a week and a half, which i think is pretty good for me. Well, at least it’s good that I did it for a while. I missed today, but in my defense, had about 13 seconds of time to myself all day. whatever. i had a good day anyways. i will keep recording, hopefully this isn’t the slippery slope it could turn out to be…
in the mean time, this dude is WAY better than me…by insurmountable measures.
I added some drums, and it changed the whole…everything about the song. Riff is still the same, just a bit more syncopated. The drums are one of the jazz loops in Garageband. It’s growing…
I also learned how to do some stuff with my GT8 today, which is sweet. it’s becoming a worthwhile investment.
