Local One Music is checkin out The Cloud Hymn tomorrow night. If you’d like to come down, InfiniTea House in Eau Claire has the spot, Cloud Hymn has the music.
I made it a week and a half, which i think is pretty good for me. Well, at least it’s good that I did it for a while. I missed today, but in my defense, had about 13 seconds of time to myself all day. whatever. i had a good day anyways. i will keep recording, hopefully this isn’t the slippery slope it could turn out to be…
in the mean time, this dude is WAY better than me…by insurmountable measures.
Alright, so my buddy Justin Palm (who I havent heard from in a while…and miss a lot) wrote a lot and is an awesome musician. He moved from playing as “Justin Palm” to “Big Ships. Big Storms.” Him and his sister would play, and they were great. I can send some stuff if you’d like, but yeah…
Anyway, he wrote a lot of songs as Justin Palm, and really didnt like them. Didn’t like them so much so that he would get mad at us for liking them. Such an artist…
Anyway, in the grand plan to piss him off more (if liking his songs wasnt enough) I decided to record some drums to one of his songs. I think he referred to this song as “Dirty and Foresaken” but I just have it in my music player as “Track 04.”
Here’s the recording with the drums. I might add some Bass, too. I hope you’ll agree, that it’s good (at least his song, disregard the drumming racket). I double “categorized” this so that it shows up as a suggestion, too, because I suggest everyone check him out. Leave a comment if you want his other stuff. I’ll send it (and take no responsibility for any copyright infringement).

So I stumbled upon a pretty cool site that records live performances of some good bands (Cold War Kids, The Shins, Bon Iver) on various city streets and buildings…its fun to see the drastic change of interest in most bystanders who initially get freaked out by 3 guitarists singing to them, but soon realize the music is really good and somewhat structured…”hmmm, they must be a successful traveling band if they sound this good.” So yeah, if I see anyone on the streets playing some pleasing music in a strange fasion as I eat my chicken sandwich…I think I’ll choose to watch and possibly get on tape.
